As someone FROM the South, I can assure you that some of them will be fine......but a lot just won't get it till they wad up a few cars.

I did disagree with the slow part. I mean, I agree not to run everywhere like you normally would on dry road, but today, we had a lot of people that just would not give it ANY gas. I do not want to torque-converter crawl my way to work, give it some gas, it will spin for a sec while it claws for a little traction, get up to 15 or 20, & just ease along.

BUT DON'T FUCKING IDLE EVERYWHERE!!!!!!

I see a lot of Arizona plates around here ( mostly Mexicans) & avoid them at all costs. I do better around here in my SQ than most do with four wheel drive.

Although I am sure those little Carollas get awesome traction with 40 mexicans in them.

& I disagree with you Rolling Eyes Driving on solid Ice takes some driver control. If you are driving too fast on Ice & don't know how to stop.....DUH!!! Your a danger to yourself & anyone around you. You can get away with waiting for traction to occur on snow. Ice is a completely different story, There is no traction!!! I don't have any idea when the last time was that you drove on 2" of solid ice. I did it for two weeks in December here in Montana: 24 miles a day back & forth to work & didn't crash my truck or run into anyone else. Yes, during that time I got behind drivers that were going REAL SLOW on a two lane highway...Did it bother me? NO. Not every driver is experienced driving on Ice. If I would have speeded up & tried to pass that car...Who knows what would have happened? So, it took me some extra time to get home....Big deal. My beer was still cold when I got there.

I don't give bad advice. Just sound advice,

Bill

I did a 360 then a 180 on I-70 at 50 + mph in my crownvic, that's when I figured out that my traction control was still active at that speed, since I have turned it off & no more mishaps!

Good thing was at that unexpected wild spin nothing happened to my car or myself, so anyone reading this, leave your traction control off unless you're stuck.

The only time I spun the ole SQ was going up the canyon here by us to Estes. Went tearing around a bend & spun her right round baby, just kept her out of the river. This was on dry ass pavement, mid summer. course my rear tires were balder than shit.

Miss my old S-10 Baja. Had monster ass tires on it with sheet metal screws where the studs were sposed to go. That thing was just a beast. Noisy ass hell on pavement though.

You feel that some drivers drive too slow for road conditions. I feel that some drivers drive too fast. At least we can agree to disagree.

P.S. I haven't "wadded" any vehicle up either Laughing Last year I did have a deer run into my Pathfinder on a Four lane ice covered road. Hit the drivers side rear quarter panel & spun my ass around, over the center divider & ended up facing north when I was going south.

But it makes it so easy to do when there is no traction. I think it is funny they have no idea of the amount of driving required to loose traction on dry surfaces.
